The school kitchen started providing lunch from September 2018. It gives special importance to the children’s proper nutrition, with a menu approved by our school’s pediatrician. Variety, quality of raw materials, cleanliness, staff training in HACCP (food safety standard) and proper cooking is a key concern of the school.
The Montessori Way of Life offers children two meals.
- Decatian: in this a type of solid food is offered such as bread, nuts, rice wafers, breadsticks and is accompanied by fruits, dairy products and vegetables such as bananas, tahini honey, cheese, tomato,… The decatian is integrated into the activities of daily life.
- Lunch:the main course is served with side dishes. The main course is designed so that the children are provided with meat, fish, vegetables, legumes and pasta every week. A Mediterranean diet is followed.
At Montessori Way of Life, our kitchen is fully functional and central to our pedagogy. Following the way of Maria Montessori we treat the process of eating as another opportunity to offer to our children :
- the experience of new tastes
- their active participation through the tasks of the waiter and the cook,
- their socialization around the table,
- strengthening their self-confidence and self-service
