Internal Regulations

PURPOSE

The purpose of our school is to educate children based on the principles of the Montessori method. The philosophy it advocates aims at the undivided development of each child (physical, mental, emotional and social) and the all-round coverage of their developmental needs with the aim of achieving independence.

CURRICULUM

The pedagogical program is designed based on the Montessori method supervision material in each class

  • The personalized presentation of the educational material
  • The mixed ages
  • The possibility of choosing activities by the children.
  • The simultaneous operation of several work-play domains.
  • Group and individual work.
  • The uninterrupted three hours of work (concentration).
  • The knowledge of the pedagogues in the philosophy and the way the Montessori method works.

RUNTIME

A.  The school is open from September 11 to June 30 each year.

B.   Its pedagogical program follows the calendar program of the Ministry of Education as defined for kindergartens, with all official holidays of the school year (October 28th, Christmas, March 25th, Clean Monday, Easter, etc.).

C.   The hours of the educational program are from 7:45 am to 3:00 pm.

IMMIGRATION – DEPARTURE OF CHILDREN

A. Children’s attendance begins from 7:45 and is completed gradually until 8:30 at the latest.

B. The departure of the children takes place either at 1:00 p.m., at 2:00 p.m. or at 3:00 p.m. .�� The departure can be done by the school bus, or by being picked up by the parents or another person, for which the school has been informed in writing.

C. For reasons of safety and orderly operation of the school, parents are kindly requested to be consistent with the school hours when picking up and dropping off their children.

D. Also, in the event of the child’s absence, they are requested to inform the school in time.

REGISTERED  CHILDREN

A. AGE GROUP

The school accepts children from the age of 2.5 years to the age of 6, regardless of religion and ethnic origin.

B. CHILDREN WITH PHYSICAL-INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES

The school is willing to include in its classes a small number of children with a physical or mental speciality, as long as the school can really meet the needs of that child from all sides.

For children with already diagnosed learning difficulties or those under care, the school provides full support through its educational program, teachers and external partners.

C. CHILDREN IN DIAPER

The school accepts children who wear diapers and supports the removal process.

PERSONAL

A. TEACHERS

All the teaching staff of the school have the necessary certifications from the ministry and the specialization in the Montessori system.

The educator accepts the particularities of each child, helps their developmental path, works together with the children and not on behalf of the children, does not use reward or deprivation, judgment of the children’s bad or good work, thecrying among the children, the coercive imposition of her own choices. He is in the classroom, the role model, the guide and the caretaker of the children, the environment and the material.

Each educator has knowledge of the personality, abilities and knowledge of each child individually and provides information and advisory support to parents at regular intervals.

B. EXTERNAL PARTNERS

As part of its operation, the school collaborates with any specialty it deems necessary, to promote its purpose and principles.

The school collaborates on a regular basis with a pediatrician who checks the children’s health and contributes to the formulation of the diet.

NUTRITION

The school has a full kitchen to prepare snacks and lunch for the children.

The materials used are of excellent quality and, where possible, raw materials from organic products are chosen.

Tithe and lunch provided to children is included in the basic tuition schedule.

A Mediterranean diet is followed. There is a monthly update for the children’s diet.

  • HEALTH ISSUES

In health matters, the school requests full information from parents. It provides parents with a form to fill out that remains with the school and its information is confidential so that staff and administration are informed of potential health issues for each child.

Any other health issues that may arise during the school year, the school immediately informs the parents of the child who is unwell and arranges �his way back home. At the same time, the unwell child remains in the specially designed space for this purpose. The school monitors the progress of the child’s health until he returns to school, communicating with the parents.

The school is not a safe place. For the protection of the child himself and his classmates, children who have not fully recovered should be kept by their parents at home.

FINANCIAL PARTICIPATION OF PARENTS

A. TUITION

The tuition fee includes the entire educational program regardless of the arrival and departure times of the child. The tuition fee is for the entire school year and is not prorated per month.

An additional discount is provided for siblings attending school.

B. ADDITIONAL CHARGES

The use of the school bus to transport the child, the child’s participation in summer activities (camp), participation in afternoon workshops and the annual cost of materials are charged in addition to the annual tuition. The above services are excluded from the discounts provided and are paid exclusively for the period (months) of their provision.

C. REGISTER

The child’s pre-registration is done by completing the corresponding document by the parent.

In the case of pre-registration requests beyond the permitted based on the permission of the children’s school, please observe the order of priority.

When registering the child, parents receive the internal regulations of the school and a handbook to inform and support the school’s parent community.

For registration in each school year he paidThe amount of 550.00as a down payment and the amount of 150.00 for the purchase and use of materials. The down payment is deducted from the annual tuition amount.

Registration for the next school year takes place between the months of April and May.

D. WITHDRAWAL OF REGISTRATION

Cancellation of registration if done before the start of the school year charges parents with the loss of the advance payment.

E. DELETE CHILD

Cases with serious health problems (of the child or parents), change of city or country of residence or other demonstrably serious reason that forces the child to stop attending school, are dealt with individually in relation to the financial burden of the parents.

The school does not delete children without parental request.

Exceptional cases, such as health issues, extreme and abusive behavior by a parent towards the administration, school staff or towards parents and children of the school, as well as large financial arrears in fees or benefits, are considered individually and the school may proceed with a deletion at the discretion of the administration.

  • PARENTAL PARTICIPATION:

We believe that the active participation and cooperation of parents is an essential element for the smooth functioning of the school. Participation in parent gatherings and educational lectures aimed at raising awareness of modern pedagogy and psychology is considered a necessary condition for the successful implementation of the Montessori method.

Also with the aim of supporting families and creating closer and more meaningful relationshipsExcursions, theatrical performances, celebrations and events that meet the criteria of the Montessori method are proposed and organized.
